Deathwing has new quotes with his original voice actor, as in the same voice he had in-game during the Cataclysm expansion. Sounds absolutely horrendous. Cataclysm Deathwing sounds cheap somehow. There's no point in saying this, even if you slap them upside down and inside out with the truth, the tin foil hat brigade will continue to believe the opposite. That Deathwing was not metzen, hell. They don't even have to sign some well known actor or something to do the voices, although having James Woods voice Deathwing would be the greatest thing ever imo.

Not saying that it's the case with Deathwing (could or could not be), just a point why juicy sounds are not always best. Why they couldn't get the original VA is pure speculation. Boring, reused skin with very little alterations with a boring, lame voice ran through a VOCoder to try to sound not like the average Joe it does.
Also you have to consider audio design - if a sound is common, you don't want to make it super juicy, otherwise players may get fatigued by it. I was assuming it was unused lines as well. I guess that would be why it sounds familiar.. They probably got his voice actor back to record lines for the announcer, ... His story was that after the near extinction of his flight by Deathwing, he fell into madness for thousands of years, secluding himself in the Nexus, the focal point of the Blue Dragonflight's power. Back then, we had all anticipated Deathwing for ages, and we were almost certain that he was on his way. It's actually not a bad guess, all things considered.
