This complaint for me was very quickly washed away when I realized the complex nature of their relationship, as well as the jumbled timeline of the film itself.

The structure, again though, is truly worth noting. The musician must find a way to combat Crossley and his seemingly implacable powers. The movie surprises the viewer with yet another similar magnificent twist at the film's very end, leaving you questioning whether if it all really was real or not. I love the way the tables turn instantly as Anthony realises his entire life has become under Crossley's control. I recommend it here all the time but I think you may be the first that's actually watched it :-). |

It's mindbending, and, IMHO, absolutely deserves the same level of regard as other British horror classics as Don't Look Now and The Wicker Man. I have a rather unpopular belief that when most people say they say they like horror they actually like films with horror elements, not films that truly upsetting. It can easily be criticized or written off completely as being overly confusing but I believe it was very much intentionally left to interpretation. Very strange and otherworldly vibe to it.
