The ending was a surprise and completely unpredicted. Good film first one was better but overall film a 7 out 10 I would say as good storyline and some good suspense scenes. This is pretty much the same but why change something that worked first time around.
The one thing they know for certain is that there is something terrifying and strange that threatens their fragile existence, and it is coming for them. Part 2's of any film tend to be very inferior. The survivor who exits the cave on the first movie is found and a sheriff, female deputy and a cave rescue team find a mine shaft when she exited the cave. Its a reasonable horror movie that follows the fairly standard horror line - mismatched group of individuals end up going somewhere creepy, dark (always dark so you can hide any iffy sepcical effects) for a poorly defined purpose and then get bumped off one by one.
Good tempo to film not many slow sections. With nothing to distract them from their own fear, they hold onto hope for a normal family life above the surface someday.

Brilliant sequel I was not expecting it to be this good and it did not have a right to be this good. Jack (Hauser) and his brother Tyler (Eddie Cibrian) are thrill-seeking professional cave explorers who run a team of the top divers in the world. The sheriff fires his gun and nearly brings the whole cave down. It is possible that having a bigger budget, and more make up effects took away from the story telling.

It is not as good as Descent, but is a worthy sequel. If the orginal hadn't been so good then this would probably be worth 4 stars.
In spite of the adverse comments of other reviewers, all of which are perfectly reasonable, the plot is after all pretty unlikely, I still enjoyed round two of this glorious bloodbath as Shauna MacDonald's character: Sarah and her friend Juno, the only survivors of the first encounter, give it another go. There is a decent amount of suspense and danger, weakened by having the stupid Chief along.
