The Descent Part 2 sends a rattled Sarah and a rescue team back into these evil caves to find out if any of Sarah’s group are still alive down there. They get virtually no character development and they don’t last long. So the crawler runs off and now everyone is trapped in the caves. The ending should change in the second one. And Sarah being the only person to come out alive and them to go back and make it to the end and die. So Dan being alive is plausible. the camera working is ridiculous! Basically, she’s acting exactly like you’d expect if you saw the first film. Then they get on the elevator, which apparently still works (they don’t make ’em like they used to, I guess), and the OG activates it and lowers them down. The final scene of the first movie was of her thinking she was at her birthday. In short, pass on this one, especially if you are a fan of The Descent.
Also, the cell phone was in a ziplock bag & that is why it survived in the water. Rios has her phone in a water-proof case. Despite Sarah’s deteriorated mental state and the complaints of Rios and Sarah’s doctor, he drags her along. Besides, in part one when Sara attacked Juno’s knee so she could get away, Juno scremed so loud and was surrounded by crawlers and left to die. IMO they were planning for another sequel ‘D3- The Crawlers and OG are Family’ ! We don’t know right away what’s in the pool that they end up in. It had too little character development, it made too many mistakes, the chilling atmosphere that made the first film great is all but gone, and the ending does nothing but leave a foul taste in your mouth. I thought the movie was great, I was very glad to see a refreshing take on a cliche scenario.

Review is 99.9% spot on bravo. I saw The Descent in theaters back in 2006, and I remember liking it quite a bit. What the hell is the point of that? This is where the US cut ends -- with a (mirror-image) close-up of Sarah's eyes looking into the camera in terror. The Descent concludes with most of these friends meeting grisly ends by these crawlers, but Sarah seems to survive the traumatic event. Dealing not just with the dangerous caves themselves, but also a group of deadly underground dwelling creatures. Presumably she grabs the camera as well since she has it in a later scene, though we never actually see her pick it up. ( Log Out / Sarah should have made it back alive, the ending is horrible. This whole movie’s plot shouldn’t have existed. Sarah comes out of hiding to stop Rios from screaming for help since it will lead the crawlers right to her, and they are teamed up for the rest of the film. Sarah is unconscious (asleep) on the floor of the cave. In the third one it could be a dream on of them is having and how 2 ended and then show a different scence as the real ending. Sarah has no problem operating the video camera in a later scene, and that camera definitely does not look waterproof. They manage to fight them off, but Juno is mortally wounded in the fight. One would think the director, Jon Harris, would have a better grasp of this since he was an editor for the first film.
2. It just does far too many things wrong, even if you ignore the ending.
