It's panpsychism, the idea that every particle in the universe has consciousness of some sort, which explains how we humans might have consciousness without having to resort to reductionism or dualism. My only difficulty with the book was the last chapter, which got rather too 'mystical' for my liking, which could leave the audience thinking that to be into Panpsychism, you must also be into mysticism, new age thinking and all that sort of nonsense.
